Back in 1997 my buddy Tony and I got word of a run being organized that would ride up through the center of Australia from a town called Alice Springs located smack in the middle of Australia, then a 1000 mile ride to Darwin in the North of the territory. The deal was if you had a Hydra Glide you would more than likely receive an invitation to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Hydra Glide here in Australia. Even in the late 90’s it wasn’t common to see 6 or mores pans in one place at any one time, the thought of a bunch of Panheads riding up the middle of nowhere seemed to be the place to be when the time came.
